ASU programs

Many of these programs are free and if not they offer scholarships for those that demonstrate financial need.

Barrett Summer Scholars

This residency program is for rising 8th, 9th, and 10th graders. It is a valuable early learning experience for college life. It is designed for high-achieving students determined to learn, collaborate, and participate with peers across the state.

Fleischer Scholars

Fleischer Scholars is a week long residency program designed for students from underrepresented communities interested in pursuing business as a career. It is a great opportunity to connect with W. P. Carey students, faculty, staff, and alumni, discover the key factors for academic and professional success, and to learn more about financial assistance.

Joaquin Bustoz Math-Science Honors Program i

This outstanding program is tailored for students who are underrepresented in the mathematics and science fields. Bustoz provides students with the unique opportunity to  begin university mathematics studies before graduating high school. You must be a current sophomore, junior, or senior to apply.

 César E. Chávez Leadership Institute

CCLI  is a week long summer program that encourages access to higher education at no cost. The program emphasizes on leadership development and civic engagement. You must be a rising junior or senior in order to be eligible to apply.

The Hispanic Mother-Daughter Program (HMDP) 

Don't be phased by the name of the program, anyone of any ethnicity or gender is eligible to apply. HMDP is an early outreach program to increase college success for first-generation students. The program connects scholars with exceptional resources throughout their late middle school and high school career. Recruitment begins when the student is in 7th grade.

The Camp Catanese Foundation

Camp Catanese is a lively week long summer college readiness program held at ASU's West Campus for high school students. It also offers participants ACT prep on Saturdays and weekend retreats throughout the year.

STEP

Student Expedition Program

STEP mentors, educates, and empowers high-achieving low-income first-generation students to beat the odds and strive for higher education. STEP is the hidden gem of college preparatory programs in Arizona. With amazing opportunities such as test prep, workshops, advising, information sessions with admissions reps from all over the country, and a multi-week leadership expedition trip to the wilderness of Alaska, STEP equips its students with all the necessary tools to achieve college success. Their success with their students can be proven with their alumni. To only name a few, STEP alum are attending Columbia, Harvard, BowdoinGeorgetown, DukePomona, and more top ranked schools nationwide.

Those living in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona are eligible to apply. Students can apply in the fall of their sophomore year. It is highly recommended that students take honors, AP, or IB classes starting their freshman year or 8th grade if possible to be qualified to apply.

Be A Leader Foundation

Be a Leader provides students with tools, leadership skills, support, and opportunities in order to increase college success. This foundation offers numerous programs for students starting in 7th grade up to college where even in college Be a Leader offers career path development support. Throughout highschool Be a Leader offers educational workshops and both a college and career shadow week! Another incredible free program for rising seniors is Senior Boot Camp (SBC). SBC includes free ACT prep, both essay and FAFSA assistance, access to scholarships, and a coach that will support you for the rest of your high school career. Overall, Be a Leader is a remarkable nonprofit that is one of the key leaders in closing the opportunity gap for Arizona students.

AGUILA Youth Leadership Institute

A Phoenix program mentoring Arizona's next leaders

The AGUILA Youth Leadership Institute prime goal is to increase the number of students pursuing higher education. This is accomplished through AGUILA's unique approach of equally emphasizing "the arts, literature, civic engagement, social justice, service learning, health and wellness" as equal values to achieving student success. This meaningful mentorship follows students lives from high school to college. Although there is a $50 application fee scholarships are available to those demonstrating financial need.
